Eggs can curb your hunger

What do you always eat at breakfast? I was under the impression that people of western countries such as Europeans and Americans prefer to eat some bread and milk, cornmeal or plus some salad and sandwiches etc. as breakfast every day. While Japanese people may be more likely to eat some Yamato-breakfast such as Miso, Onigiri, etc. or maybe some people are the same with the people of western countries. While when I was in my hometown China, I always eat the Chinese food such as soya-bean milk, jellied bean curd, tea eggs and may be some Chinese-type pies. There were so many kinds of food full of variety in China that I didn’t know what to eat at breakfast when I first came to Japan. And as the article said, finally I chose eggs as my breakfast till now.
In this article, it is reported that eating eggs at breakfast would bring people more satiety than some others. According to the research of the American Egg Board, eating eggs boosts PYY in human’s body, which is a kind of hormone that could lower hunger sensation and higher satiety of body. And it leads people to eat less at the next meal. So the researchers advised people who want to lose weight could try to eat eggs at breakfast or lunch.
To combine with my life, I would like to share some of my experiences. When I first came to Japan, I cannot find any foods which are a little bit similar as in China. At that time, I was confused about what to eat at breakfast and began to eat instant noodles which I brought from China. But when I ate up the noodles, it became a problem once again. So I began to eat breads and milk as breakfast, but my roommate did not want to eat them anymore. Finally, we chose to cook some Japanese Ramen and add an egg and sometimes some Green cabbages per person. Of course my roommate did it every morning because I could not wake up such early to cook. We found it great for our stomach and full of nutrition. Thus we continued to eat it as breakfast till we both left from Kyoto.
But while I came to Sapporo, I found that kind of noodle cannot be found in the super-markets of Sapporo. Though felt a little bit sad, I had to find a new food as breakfast. As early as my Japanese class goes at the first class two times a week, my breakfast must be speedy and full of nutrition. Thus I found eggs are miraculous to be breakfast. Sometimes I write reports all the night. And I have the experience of slept at 4:00AM so that I felt so tired when I woke up. But finally, eating eggs at morning makes me satiety and a little more energetic than some others do. And I chose to eat an egg as breakfast to support my whole morning.
That is all my opinions about this article and I think it is a great choose for us to eat eggs every day in order to support our brain as a kind of high grade protein.

  1. My usual breakfast in both Japan and America is composed of homemade granolla with fresh fruit and yogurt or soy milk. As my family also enjoys many Japanese dishes, we also often have a Japanese style breakfast, which is composed of miso soup, rice (we eat genmai because it's healthier), an maybe an egg. Of course we sometimes have a kind of traditional American breakfast, which is composed of eggs, bacon, and toast. And speaking of eggs, I often hard-boil some eggs for the week, which I can then eat for either breakfast or lunch later in the week.
