eCall system to be on European cars by 2015
As
we all know, there has been amount of people died of car accidents. Some people
would be dead on the spot, but there were also a lot of people died of not
timely rescue.
In order to decrease the number of death who
would not dead on the spot of the accidents in future, the European Parliament
decided to fit the eCall system on the European new cars from 2015.
This
story reported that from 2015, all the new cars would be fitted with the eCall
system in Europe. This system is an emergency telephone system which would
telephone to the 112 public emergency number when a car met a big accident.
This system would to be start when the airbag was bounced off after an accident.
It will help police to confirm the location and the time of the accident for
people can arrive to the site on the first time. And of course, this system
would not be used while the car is not in an accident for protecting people's
private. And it is also report the cost of each car would only increase less than
100Euros, and could save 2,500 lives every year in the future of Europe.
In
my point of view, it is a good choice for cars to fit this kind of system.
Though it is only a piece of news of Europe, I hope the system would also be
used in China. In China, there were lots of people died of some accidents,
which were caused by absconding people or tourist buses' crashed. Sometimes
they were not dead immediately, but for they were not found promptly. And especially
the accidents which happened in some no-one mountain areas, there were lots of
people dropped in the deep valley and died of helpless. They were just falling
in unconsciousness but did not die at the moment of the accident.
But
on another hand, for China have a big area and a large population, and also
consider with the economic conditions of the citizens, it needs a long time to
achieve. And instead of the eCall system, China maybe had done some tiny
systems by some personal developments. Maybe Chinese people have already made
an iphone application as a reliable emergency system.
That is all my opinion about this story, and I expect the system could
be spread around the world.

This is the first time that I have heard of the eCall system. My first impression is that it is a great idea. In fact, I can't think of any negative points of requiring car manufactures to install such a system in their cars.
